“Becoming an individual: a psychoanalytic journey with a schizoid-deprived patient”

FRANCO BORGOGNO Ph.D.

The Western Branch Canadian Psychoanalytic Society is pleased to present its Annual Scientific Meeting to interested clinicians.

This year’s conference: “Becoming an individual: a psychoanalytic journey with a schizoid-deprived patient”, Dr. Franco Borgogno will discuss how “the analyst’s unconscious emotional response serves as both a tool for comprehension and a key element of environmental facilitation - a “new beginning, that may help the patient attain a level of development and emancipation that he or she has never experienced before.” Through the presentation of case material Dr. Borgogno will discuss how the analyst’s willingness to emotionally and mentally participate in the experiences of the patient may, “make it possible to meet and understand the patient”.

Dr. Franco Borgogno, is Full Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Psychology Faculty of Turin University (Italy); Full Member of the International Psychoanalytical Association and Training and Supervising Analyst of the Sociteta Psiconalitica Italiana.

2.      To become aware of the clinical usefulness for the analysand’s experience of the analyst’s spontaneity.
